
Human Resources Director

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Human Resources Director to support a growing utility construction company with approximately 100 employees. This role is ideal for a practical, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment and is comfortable supporting both office and field operations.
Key Qualifications
Proven experience in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding employees in construction or similar industries
Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and benefits administration
Working knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
Experience supporting field employees and supervisors
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
Lead full‑cycle recruiting for field and office positions (operators, laborers, CDL drivers, etc.)
Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and employee support
Manage workers’ compensation and insurance claims, coordinating with carriers and employees
Ensure compliance with job site safety requirements, policies, and reporting
Coordinate and schedule required training (safety, certifications, DOT compliance, etc.)
Maintain DOT compliance, including driver qualification files and related documentation
Advise management on HR policies, employee relations, and performance issues
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Promote and support a positive, safety‑focused workplace culture
