Position Summary: The Executive Director serves as the senior operational leader responsible for advancing the organization’s strategic, financial, and operational performance while ensuring alignment with its mission, vision, and growth objectives, providing leadership across clinical, operational, and business functions to drive sustainable revenue growth, strengthen referral partnerships and community presence, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered hospice care while achieving key performance outcomes including census growth, referral conversion, length of stay optimization, and overall operational effectiveness.
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Growth
Develop and implement strategic initiatives that support organizational growth, market expansion, and long‑term sustainability.
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with hospitals, physician groups, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other referral sources.
Strengthen the organization’s community presence and reputation through active engagement with healthcare partners and community stakeholders.
Lead initiatives that enhance service offerings, improve patient access, and support the agency’s growth trajectory.
Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
Drive revenue growth through expansion of referral relationships, improved referral conversion, and increased community awareness of hospice services.
Collaborate with marketing teams to identify and develop new referral sources and strategic partnerships.
Monitor market trends, referral patterns, and competitive dynamics to identify growth opportunities.
Financial Oversight & Operational Performance
Provide financial oversight of agency operations including budgeting, revenue cycle management, billing practices, and financial performance monitoring.
Ensure ethical and compliant billing practices across Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer sources.
Monitor financial and operational metrics to support informed decision‑making and organizational sustainability.
Collaborate with leadership to identify operational efficiencies that support financial performance and high‑quality patient care.
Clinical & Operational Alignment
Partner with clinical leadership to ensure alignment between operational performance, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.
Support interdisciplinary collaboration across clinical, administrative, and marketing teams.
Ensure operational processes effectively support clinical teams in delivering high‑quality patient care.
Promote a culture that balances compassionate care with operational effectiveness and accountability.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure agency adherence to federal, state, and accreditation standards governing hospice services.
Maintain and oversee agency policies and procedures and ensure staff are appropriately trained and oriented.
Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives to support compliance and high standards of care.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to administrative and operational teams to ensure accountability and high performance.
Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support staff development and professional growth across the organization.
Community Engagement & Organizational Representation
Serve as a key ambassador for the organization within the community.
Foster relationships with healthcare providers, referral partners, and community organizations to support patient access and organizational growth.
Represent the agency in professional organizations, community events, and healthcare partnerships.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business‑related field.
Healthcare leadership experience, within hospice and palliative care.
Work Environment Work is primarily sedentary with occasional walking, standing, and travel within the community to support partnership development and organizational representation.
