Job Description The Christian Legal Society (CLS) is a fellowship of Christians dedicated to serving Jesus Christ through the practice of law (Attorney Ministries), the defense of religious freedom and life (Center for Law and Religious Freedom), the cultivation of law student chapters (Law Student Ministries), and the provision of Christian legal aid to the poor and needy (Christian Legal Aid).
This position is a part of the CLS management team and reports to the COO and collaborates closely with the other chief Officers and department directors to promote and support the mission, values, and ministries of CLS. Among its major responsibilities (below), the position also requires management over the LSM Program Coordinator.

Major Responsibilities The position is responsible for the high-level management and coordination of the Law Student Ministries (LSM) department. The individual in this role will help manage 140+ student chapters from across the nation, as well as offer their support to the other 30+ independent Christian student chapters when appropriate. They will also pursue ways to start new chapters in law schools missing Christian student organizations.
Duties Include (but are not limited to)
Leading all LSM initiatives
Proactively proposing, developing, and implementing ways to expand the impact of LSM
Maintain regular contact with law student chapter leaders to encourage and provide practical support
Identify and support the formation of new law student chapters
Help develop various pre-law and mentorship programs
Consult and coordinate with student leaders on various events (e.g., Bible Studies, lunch lecturers, panels)
Provide insight into various forms of mediation in the event chapter leaders need an outsider’s perspective
Offer Biblical guidance for struggling chapters and law students
Think innovatively on ways to serve law schools and bridge the divide between distance chapters
Support students in attending regional retreats and national conferences (e.g., scholarships, transportation, roommates)
Set up online or in‑person forums for discussion and debate concerning the integration of Christianity and law
Provide resources to place chapters in a position to succeed, including, e.g., registration documents, ideas for campus engagement, Bible study resources, contact information for local attorneys
Manage and lead the Student Symposium at the annual National Conference and the CLS Law School Fellows Program
Supporting, encouraging, and collaborating creatively with the other CLS ministry directors to fulfill the CLS Mission.
Qualifications
Agreeing to the CLS Statement of Faith and to abide by CLS Community Life Statement
2 or more years of practical legal experience
Mature Christian faith
A self‑starter who can take initiative, act without constant supervision, and possesses high motivation
Ability to identify issues/problems and propose and implement solutions
Ability to work collaboratively with the COO and other ministry directors
Ability to articulate the scriptural basis of vocation and calling
Excellent written and oral communication skills and relationship‑building skills
Outgoing and energetic with excellent relationship‑building and fostering skills
Strong attention to detail and proven project‑management skills
Skilled in planning and implementing processes
Experience in a Christian non‑profit ministry is a plus
