Your role as the Small Business Development Specialist at Hamilton County will be instrumental in advancing economic growth and development of small and diverse businesses. Your responsibilities will include overseeing initiatives to boost the participation of XBEs, managing procurement software, administering business programs, facilitating vendor outreach, and supporting community engagement. Working closely with internal departments, external vendors/contractors, and community stakeholders, you'll ensure adherence to program policies and procedures while cultivating a diverse and inclusive business landscape.

Summary of Job Duties

Act as the primary administrator for B2G (Business-to-Government) procurement software, overseeing its functionality across seven modules to align with Economic & Community Support policies.

Assist the Director in managing the XBE business program, updating policy forms and monitoring goal setting per contract.

Review and approve small purchases, monitor minority, women-owned, and small business vendors during the quote process.

Maintain and update the BOLD Vendors registration directory, communicating with vendors to inform them of opportunities and training.

Contribute to drafting articles for EIED’s (Economic Inclusion and Equity Department) Quarterly E-Newsletter and collaborate on website review and updates for improved accessibility and promotion of programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration or related field with coursework in business or public administration.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

Equivalent experience may be considered.

40 Hour Work Week, generally between core hours of 7:30-5:30
