Position Overview The Assistant Property Manager supports the daily operations of an apartment community and works closely with the Property Manager to ensure efficient property management and excellent resident service.

This role includes responsibilities related to leasing, rent collection, resident relations, compliance, and administrative operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing a positive experience for residents and applicants.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily operations of the apartment community

Accept and process applications from prospective residents

Collect and accurately record rent and other resident payments

Maintain lease files, financial records, and compliance documentation

Respond to resident inquiries and resolve concerns professionally

Coordinate and follow up on maintenance work orders

Assist with new resident move-ins and leasing processes

Prepare reports and maintain accurate system data

Support inspections and property management operations

Deliver high-quality customer service to residents and visitors

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or a related field preferred

Minimum 2 years of experience in property management, leasing, housing operations, or related administrative work

Experience handling financial transactions, payments, or reconciliations

Knowledge of affordable housing or HUD programs preferred

Experience with property management software such as Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, RealPage, or similar systems

Skills and Competencies

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Excellent organization and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records

Professional communication and conflict resolution abilitiesAbility to work effectively with diverse resident populations
