Summary: Under general direction, performs professional-level human resources functions that support the library’s workforce, including recruiting and orienting new staff, assisting with employee relations matters, administering workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws, and maintaining accurate HR records.

This position will be assigned to the Human Resources department of the Metropolitan Library System. This department is housed in the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library at 300 Park Avenue in Oklahoma City, OK.

The hiring salary for this position is $25.44 hourly. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. This position is classified as non-exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The current need for this position requires that the candidate be available to work the following days: Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 4:30 pm with occasional need to work outside of these times and on weekends.*

Qualifications Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; and

3 years of human resources experience, preferably with a focus on employment and recruitment.

Licenses and Certifications:

Required within 12 months from the date of hire:

Human Resources Professional Certification: SHRM-CP ® /SHRM-SCP ® and/or PHR ® /SPHR ®

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

Experience using an HRIS

Experience using an Applicant Tracking System

Experience working for a public entity.
