Brief Description
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the management of assigned Commercial Business accounts in the management of credit relationships. This role oversees the daily management, underwriting, and quality control of credit approvals, closings, and post-closing activities for existing and prospective loan relationships.

Analyze financial information, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and tax returns, to form an opinion of the creditworthiness of applicants based on sound risk-based examination of strengths and weaknesses.
Determine appropriate risk ratings and make recommendations for approval/denial of loan requests. Prepare written credit memorandums for presentation and approval.
Assist lending staff in the analysis, servicing, and reporting on commercial and real estate loans.
Work with lending staff in the development of appropriate credit decisions, and prepare written reports documenting such decisions. Provide guidance to lending staff for the interpretation and application of lending policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Provide analytical support directly to the Chief Credit Officer and Chief Executive Officer to identify and measure credit risk and emerging trends within the Bank’s loan portfolio.
Assist with various credit risk management practices, including, but not limited to, portfolio stress testing, various management and board-level reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Understand and employ the Bank’s policies and procedures; make recommendations for enhancement.
Actively assess credit goals and objectives to optimize utilization of human and financial resources to achieve the Bank’s corporate financial goals. Mentor to less experienced credit staff, including technical guidance, time management skills, lending policy interpretations, and critical decision-making skills.
Update and maintain vendor reviews, and large customer exposures concentrations confirming that the appropriate committees have approved
Obtain updated financial information and revisit existing large customers and program concentrations for re-approval on a consistent basis.
Foster open dialogue and strong working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.
Requirements
3+ years’ experience in credit analysis, commercial loan underwriting, and/or commercial lending.
Proficiency in the use of Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Team player that is highly motivated and goal-oriented
Effective oral and written communication with clients, co-workers, and all levels of management
