Members of our marketing team work on all aspects of the brand and its portfolio of products, including consumer insights, advertising, consumer promotion, shopper marketing, new products, sales, operations and finance. As a member of this team, your responsibilities could include leading the development of integrated marketing efforts, leading advertising and packaging development, promotional and website development, creating and executing media strategies and plans, championing new products, advancing consumer insights and brand strategy, and collaborating with sales teams to develop strategic partnerships. The marketing team is an integral part of the organization's overall success.

Position Overview The Product Commercialization Manager (PCM) at Johnsonville plays a pivotal role in the end-to-end delivery of new products and product optimization, from influencing long-term product lifecycle strategy to leading projects smoothly out of Front of Funnel (FOF) through commercialization and launch. This role requires building deep product and process expertise, as well as close collaboration with Innovation, R&D, Operations, Food Safety & Quality, Procurement, and external partners to deliver market-ready products, leverage and optimize internal processes, and maintain industry compliance. The PCM will champion cross‑functional teams, and use their product and process expertise to ensure launches are delivered in alignment to Johnsonville's commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

Product Lifecycle Management & Strategy:

Become an in‑house expert by continuously cultivating deep product & process knowledge across our full product portfolio, supporting key teams across the enterprise

In partnership with Innovation and Commercial leaders, develop a product lifecycle strategy, and enable it via our product lifecycle management (PLM) system

Commercialization:

Propel project mission and delivery, especially from G2 (commercialization) onward

Champion and represent the business (brief writer, Innovation) in cross‑functional product project teams, holding SME’s accountable to deliver projects that are consumer desirable, technically feasible, and financially viable

Support completion of high‑quality gate documents (Charters, 4 Box, Scorecards, etc.), and stakeholder alignment, especially at Enterprise Stage & Gate (ESG) and Portfolio Management Review (PMR)

Ensure a smooth transition from Front of Funnel (FOF) to Commercialization

Consult with project managers to

identify, manage and mitigate risks for projects

develop milestone/project plans and resource plans

monitor product performance and success metrics

Work closely with manufacturing network teams to ensure a smooth transition from R&D to full‑scale production

Collaborate with regulatory and quality teams to ensure every product launch meets the highest regulatory, safety, and quality standards

Encourage strong alignment across departments to drive success and keep the project teams motivated and energized

Use your deep product and process knowledge to support project managers, enabling speed and quality

Education

Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

5+ years of experience in product management and/or product commercialization is required

Successful experience in leadership role(s) on cross‑functional project launch teams is required

Skills

Proven track record in successfully launching new products

Demonstrated ability to drive multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines

Exceptional problem‑solving skills in dynamic and fast‑paced environments.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders

Other Requirements

Travel: Not a ton, less than 10% of your time
