Job Posting Title Manufacturing Student Recruitment Specialist (Hourly)
Job Description Summary The Part-Time Student Recruitment Specialist is responsible for promoting programs, building relationships with community partners, and recruiting prospective students through outreach activities, presentations, and events. This role requires an energetic and proactive individual who is comfortable engaging with multicultural audiences and working independently to expand awareness of educational opportunities.
Description of Duties and Tasks
Conduct outreach to high schools, community organizations, employers, and partner institutions to promote program opportunities.
Deliver engaging presentations to groups ranging from 20 to 200 students, community members, and industry partners.
Represent the college and our division at recruitment events, career fairs, and community functions.
Develop and maintain relationships with counselors, educators, employers, and community leaders to support recruitment efforts.
Build and maintain an active recruitment pipeline through follow-up communication and relationship management.
Knowledge
Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities may shift based on recruitment cycles and community opportunities
Work with a high level of independence and initiative
Proactively identify outreach opportunities
Manage recruitment activities with minimal day-to-day supervision
Adapt quickly to new partnerships and changing schedules
Skills
Confident and engaging public speaker
Comfortable initiating conversations and building relationships with new contacts
Energetic and externally motivated
Resilient and persistent in outreach and follow-up
Strong organizational and follow-through skills
Ability to represent programs professionally in public settings
Technology Skills
Experience using CRM or recruitment tracking systems (e.g., Salesforce, Slate CRM, or similar).
Proficiency with data tracking and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Ability to create and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Experience using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Familiarity with shared document and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.
Regular local and regional travel to high schools, community events, employer locations, and partner organizations. During peak recruitment periods, travel may occur 3–4 days per week.
Reliable transportation is required. The position may also involve occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend events.
Safety
Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
