We are looking for a highly qualified, proactive, adaptable, and motivated Sr Cost Estimator with 10 years of experience overseeing multiple complex projects in the electric utility industry with a proven record of working independently with minimal supervision.
Critical Tasks and Responsibilities
Leads or oversees the development and maintenance of detailed cost estimates for major and/or multi‑year projects, including scope take‑off, estimating labor, materials, contract, indirect, and allowances, and maintains (and reconciles) various versions of cost estimates.
Leads review process to ensure cost estimates are accurate and structured in a manner that meets major and multi‑year project or program requirements (e.g., work breakdown structure, Continuous Property Records, FERC/CPUC jurisdictional splits, and cost elements/drivers).
Provides consultation or expert advice on complex matters, best practices, and data analysis in areas of cost estimating (e.g. unit pricing, market trends, economic feasibility study).
Performs highly complex analytics and prepares and presents results, alternatives, and recommendations to support business decisions, manage project costs and schedules, and mitigate potential risks.
Collaborates with and obtains data/information from various project stakeholders; develops and maintains strong working relationships with team.
Leads assignments or functional team for duration of the work.
Leads or prepares project controls data request responses and work papers in supporting corporate/OU governance (e.g. Business Oversight Team and Capital Review Team), internal/external audits, General Rate Cases, and any pertinent regulatory filings.
Provides training in areas of expertise to develop future project controls professionals.
Education
A combination of education, training, and experience, generally equivalent to those typically possessed by a 4‑year college graduate.
10+ years
of experience in cost estimating and capital projects/construction.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software, Project Controls, and Cost Estimating software.
Preferred:
