Assist neurodivergent adults in preparation, placement, and maintenance of jobs in the community.
What you will do
Teach job readiness classes (including self-advocacy, workplace behavior, executive functioning, financial literacy, transportation, and health and hygiene for the workplace)
Enroll clients in the Uniquely Abled Machinist Program and manage the waitlist
Collaborate with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and instructors at SLCC Tech
Work with employers to place clients in jobs in the community
Provide necessary job coaching for clients after placement
What you’ll need to succeed
Required: 2 years’ education or experience with disability and/or mental health
Required: Ability to learn and use Teams, Outlook and Excel
Required: Ability to complete required trainingRequired: Ability to drive a 15-passenger van
Preferred: Ability to use public transportation
Preferred: Associate’s degree in social science or humanities
Qualities: patience, honesty, ability to manage your emotions, compassion and empathy, integrity, persistence, good problem-solving skills, excellent driver, good with people
