Role Description The Business Development Manager at Cherokee Federal plays a pivotal role in driving business development activities and initiatives for an assigned client group. With a focus on expertise within technical or Government Markets, including DOD (primarily US Air Force) or other potential government agency as primary customer. This role requires a strategic mindset and exceptional business acumen to establish and implement the overall business development direction and goals. The Business Development Manager will lead in customer interaction, teaming approaches, technical differentiation, and contracting solution strategies to foster growth and achieve long-term strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Account management and client relationship skills, including the ability to build trust and maintain strong partnerships with clients.
Project coordination and organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in communication and negotiation for presenting ideas, resolving conflicts, and securing contracts.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess client needs, develop strategies, and implement solutions.
Familiarity with government contracting, including knowledge of regulations, compliance requirements, and the ability to manage government contracts.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
Strong organization, Pipeline planning, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; relevant work experience may substitute for education.
Excellent knowledge of government procurement activity to include GSA, 8(a), and Full & Open.
