Key Account Manager

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining positive business relationships and ensuring consistent communication, department team collaboration, and follow-through from order placement to shipment with key accounts. This role focuses on growth and retention of existing business with assigned key accounts. Duties
Reach out to customers with specific questions, research unique requests to facilitate purchasing and assist the Sales Manager with quoting. Increase customer revenue through effective upselling of products via outbound calls and emails. Work with customers on exclusive products designed by Product Development and private‑label items, cartons, product numbers, etc. Research and suggest items for sale based on previous year purchases. Source new customers for territories and relay information to corresponding Account Representatives and Regional Sales Representatives. Engage in sales activities outside the office, face‑to‑face, creating strong relationships with decision makers, addressing issues and escalating when necessary. Build strong and trusted relationships with key accounts and provide guidance, product expertise, issue resolution, and urgency. Identify prime‑priced items best suited to specific key accounts and promote them. Act as a liaison between key accounts and the shipping department to set realistic delivery/shipping expectations. Process day‑to‑day in‑stock or import orders, confirm approvals with customers, and handle transactions. Set up new customers and place orders during trade shows. Assist with travel arrangements for customers attending the Frankfort show. Maintain key accounts across multiple territories. Collaborate with Accounting, Shipping, and Customer Service to solve customer needs. Assist the Sales Manager with special projects and assignments; assume additional responsibilities when the manager is absent. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years in sales or account management. Self‑starter who can set and achieve goals. Superior customer service skills. Knowledge of similar products. Detail‑oriented. Results‑driven. High level of integrity. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, scanners, fax machines). Able to work primarily independently while collaborating with the sales team. Must pass an MVR pre‑employment check and annually if employed. Working Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners. Physical Requirements
Primarily sedentary, with some filing. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally 25 pounds. Must be able to drive continuously and, on occasion, fly to various locations for trade shows and/or customer meetings. Schedule
8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday‑Friday (40 hours/week). Evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand. Attend trade shows in Dallas and Frankfort twice a year and travel to key accounts at times. Apply Now
