
Senior Collections Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Collections Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Alpharetta, GA. This role is ideal for candidates with strong B2B collections experience who have supported large portfolios in Fortune 500 environments.
Role Overview The Senior Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing high-volume B2B collections, reconciling accounts, applying cash accurately, and ensuring timely resolution of payment discrepancies. This role also serves as backup for team lead functions and will assist with reporting, audits, and system improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage B2B collections on portfolios of $30M+
Research and resolve short payments, misapplications, and account discrepancies
Post and apply customer payments accurately and reconcile to the general ledger
Conduct daily and monthly balancing procedures and reconciliations
Generate and maintain complex Excel reports (LOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
Assist team lead with daily task management and training new hires
Provide documentation for audits and support process improvement initiatives
Mentor junior collectors and contribute to team development
Requirements
5+ years of B2B collections/accounts receivable experience (required)
Experience collecting on large ($30M+) portfolios in Fortune 500 environments
Strong ERP system knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (LOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
Strong analytical, dispute resolution, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently in a structured, fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
Compensation Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
licensure and certification requirements;
office location and other geographic considerations;
other business and organizational needs.
As required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the referenced salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
