A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT As a Construction Superintendent, you arrive each day ready to oversee the daily operation of our job sites. Working closely with the project manager, you develop and maintain schedules, providing monthly updates to the master schedule that is presented to the client. For each project, you establish and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the applicable project plans, specifications, and contracts required. With your strong organizational skills, you coordinate and oversee subcontractors, personnel, and inspectors to ensure that projects are completed correctly and on time.
Each week, you conduct subcontractor coordination and safety meetings to discuss look ahead schedules, job-related issues, outstanding RFIs, and update as-built drawings. You also maintain records such as daily logs, time cards, tailgate safety meetings, SWPP compliance reports, progress photos, daily inspections, punch lists, etc. We know we can depend on you to keep everyone involved well informed. Your professionalism allows others to see you as a leader that they can follow to get the job done right.
Experience
5+ years' experience as Construction Superintendent.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management Preferred or Related Experience
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the construction schedule in concert with the project manager. Provide input to the required monthly updates to the master schedule for presentation to the client.
Establish and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the applicable project plans, specifications, and contracts required for the project.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, personnel and inspectors.
Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination and safety meetings to discuss look ahead schedules, Job-related issues, outstanding RFIs and update as-built drawings.
Maintain project records (daily logs, time cards, tailgate safety meetings, SWPP Compliance reports, progress photos, daily inspections, punch lists).
Skills
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of building codes and ADA Requirements
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Project, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and other industry software
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate client/owner meetings, negotiations, etc.
Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and personnel
