
Exhibit Designer

Top Shelf Exhibits, Inc. is seeking a full-time Exhibit Designer to join our team. We are a full-service exhibit design and production company known for delivering high-quality design, fabrication, and client services. We are particularly interested in candidates located in the Rochester, NY area, Florida, or Massachusetts.
Candidates must submit a portfolio or a link to their portfolio to be considered for employment. This role will also occasionally support the team in a Detailer capacity, including preparing setup packages, control drawings, graphic elevations, and bills of materials. Graphic design experience is a plus. Candidates must have experience with BeMatrix or comparable modular exhibit systems such as Agam/Nexus or Aluvision.
What You Will Do
Design three-dimensional spaces that satisfy the client’s requirements, including budget
Leverage our rental inventory of BeMatrix as well as other commonly used properties
Custom-design new cabinetry and other exhibit properties when necessary
Integrate LED tile walls/arrays into designs when called for
Show creativity balanced by pragmatism (great designs that are executable)
Design conceptual graphic maps based on clients' branding
Collaborate internally and with clients. We take an iterative design process that applies feedback at each stage of development. This includes Zoom/Teams calls with clients that require a high degree of professionalism
Manage deadlines and juggle multiple projects
Translate approved designs into functional models in Inventor for:
CAD elevations
Control drawings
Services drawings (electrical, internet, rigging drawings)
Setup/assembly drawings
Parts list generation for warehouse team
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in design or a related field, post-graduate education a plus
Above average ability to visualize and conceptualize in 3D space
Strong problem solving and basic sketching skills
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials standard of exhibit design
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Ability to work on multiple projects with varied deadlines simultaneously
Attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
Software Design
Autodesk 3ds Max with V-Ray
Adobe Creative Suite
Detailing
Autodesk Inventor preferred
Solidworks or AutoCAD 3D modeling experience also considered
