Responsibilities & Requirements
Assist the Community Outreach Department with organizing, implementing and maintaining wellness activities by utilizing their professional knowledge and experience as it relates to their field of expertise
Regularly participate in and promote wellness programs, including public presentations, with concentration on health promotion, disease prevention, screenings and lifestyle modification
The Patient Educator will refer clients as needed to KH physicians and services and will track and measure outcomes as mandated
Will act as the liaison at events and will promote and use service lines in the development of programs specifically designed to meet the needs of the community
The Patient Educator will regularly enhance knowledge base by staying current in health information provided by nationally recognized health organizations
The Patient Educator is highly motivated with the ability to work independently of others
Regularly participates in and promotes wellness programs, including public presentations, with concentration on health promotion, disease prevention, screenings and lifestyle modification
Job Requirements
Associate's degree
Registered Nurse (Current Ohio nursing license)
Current BLS /CPR certification
One or more years of medical office experience
Minimum of six months clinical nursing experience
Computer literate and very strong with Excel, Word and Outlook
Requires the ability to lift 30-50 pounds as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Public speaking, teaching and/or mentoring experience
Previous experience in Community Health, Health Promotion, or Social Work
Excellent organization and communication skills
