Job Description Farmingdale State College is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor. Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for reviewing and verifying financial aid applications; performing needs analysis calculations; certifying alternative loans; processing consortium agreements; and completing and revising financial aid packages for an assigned student population. The Advisor will also manage the State University Student Assistance (SUSTA) program.
The Financial Aid Advisor will serve as the liaison for the Study Abroad Program, providing advisement, budgeting support, and cost-of-travel guidance to participating students, and will perform other duties as assigned.
The incumbent will represent the College at internal and external events, including Open House, Financial Aid Days, and similar activities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to a collegial and collaborative administrative style and deliver high-quality customer service to students and families. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor are essential.
This position may require occasional evening and weekend hours, as well as some travel.

Preferred Qualifications At least 3 years of professional experience in Higher Education. Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations. Experience working with student data systems.
Additional Information This is a full-time UUP position.
