Overview The responsibilities of this job are to provide support to the retail and wholesale platform in loan decisions, underwriting guidance, and scenario questions based on GSE guidelines and requirements while ensuring and maintaining quality.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance to both retail and TPO originators, processors, for questions regarding guidelines, income requirements scenarios.
Maintain a small pipeline of loans to decision for final approval based on underwriting authority delegations.
Review all appraisal types for final approval including issuing NOV's and HFS/USDA conditional requirements.
Stay updated and attend refresher training for all investor guidelines.
Review and respond to management for all QC/QA exceptions.
Associates are expected to perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school education
5 years experience in underwriting FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA /USDA Rural Housing investor loans
FHA DE certification
VA SAR and certification
Documented experience in mortgage loan underwriting
General understanding and knowledge of underwriting and compliance guidelines
Working knowledge and experience with DeskTop Underwriter System
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to efficiently handle workflows
Superior problem solving skills
Excellent customer service skills
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other PC applications
Preferred:
College coursework preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
