JOB DESCRIPTION FOX Deportes is looking for a Production Assistant to provide operational and editorial support to the production department. The Production Assistant assists with video editing, research, and daily production tasks while working closely with producers and production staff.
The Production Assistant will handle a high volume of video elements under tight deadlines and contribute to the creative process by researching sports stories, gathering statistics, and pitching content ideas. This position supports projects in edit bays, production offices, and occasionally on-location shoots to ensure efficient workflow and successful content delivery.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Cut video elements, including B-roll, sound bites (SOTs), highlights, and other production assets
Support the production team with daily video editing needs and content preparation
Research statistics, background information, and relevant news related to players, teams, and sporting events
Monitor sports news and identify potential storylines or topics for shows
Pitch story and segment ideas to producers when appropriate
Assist with recording voiceovers and preparing show elements for final production
Help set up camera equipment, lighting, and other production gear for shoots when needed
Collaborate with producers and production team members to ensure content is delivered on schedule
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Basic experience in television production and/or technical operations
Strong knowledge and passion for sports across multiple leagues
Ability to work in a fast-paced sports production environment and manage tight deadlines
Ability to work calmly and professionally under tight deadlines and high-pressure environments
Ability to prioritize tasks, collaborate with team members, and adapt quickly to production needs
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong computer skills, including email, internet research, and general office systems
Strong knowledge of sports
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Fluency in Spanish (oral and written), with strong communication skills
Reliability and professionalism in all assigned production tasks
Clear and timely communication with producers and production staff regarding availability and assignments
Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment
Show initiative by proactively assisting team members and identifying ways to support the production workflow
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
College education in a field related to television, media, communications, or the entertainment industry (high school diploma considered with relevant experience)
Familiarity with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere
Experience with newsroom systems such as iNews
Availability with scheduling to work evenings and weekends, as most live sporting events and productions take place during that time
