Role Description The Waterfront Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Montville, NJ. This position oversees the daily operations of all waterfront activities, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with club standards. Responsibilities include managing lifeguard and aquatic staff teams, implementing and monitoring safety protocols, planning waterfront events, and maintaining water‑related equipment and facilities. The Waterfront Director will work collaboratively with other club departments to deliver exceptional experiences for members and guests.
Qualifications
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing teams within aquatic or recreational programs
Expertise in ensuring safety standards, including knowledge of lifeguard certifications, water safety procedures, and equipment maintenance
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with staff, members, and other departments
A proactive and creative approach to planning and implementing waterfront activities and events
Ability to manage budgets and schedules while maintaining high levels of service
Proficiency in risk assessment and problem‑solving in aquatic settings
Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding (required)
Previous experience in a similar role and familiarity with private club environments (preferred)
