JOB SUMMARY:
The Consumer Lending Intern performs a variety of functions and activities with varying degrees of complexity within the Consumer Lending division. The selected candidate will gain hands‑on experience while learning to organize and prioritize competing demands in a highly collaborative and fast‑paced environment. This role provides exposure to key areas including indirect lending, centralized lending, loan processing, underwriting, and funding. The position requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn as business needs evolve in a high‑volume setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Listen to recorded calls between loan originators and members for research and validation Assist with loan origination commission calculations Assist with reports Assist with scheduling Assist in preparing funding packages for indirect loans by verifying information on loan documents Record funded contracts Follow‑up with members to ensure needs were met through the lending process Assist on general lending functions with exposure to all areas of consumer lending Maintain knowledge of branch operations by completing Deposit Regulation and Product and Service Certification courses. Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members and co‑workers. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The TVFCU Internship Program aims to expand career pathways for undergraduate students interested in business‑related fields — including Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, and related areas — particularly for those who may have had limited exposure to opportunities in the financial services industry. This program is part of our commitment to supporting emerging talent and building a strong, diverse pipeline that reflects the communities we serve. Candidates must be 18 years of age. Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale (must provide transcripts). Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field. Ability to work part‑time or full‑time hours for the summer (25‑40 hours/week, generally 8am‑5pm Monday‑Friday). Able to commit to the full internship of 10 weeks (weekends may be required).
