The World Cup User Experience Intern’s mission is to wake up every morning thinking from the user’s point of view and strengthening Kansas City’s ability to deliver clear value and compelling experiences across every digital and physical touchpoint.

To support the successful execution of World Cup 2026 and the broader Unified KC strategy, the User Journey Analyst Intern is responsible for analyzing, mapping, testing, and improving end-to-end user journeys. They ensure that individuals engaging with Kansas City experience a seamless, intuitive, and value-driven path.

Operating at the intersection of digital platforms, physical environments, marketing, and workflow design, the User Journey Analyst Intern ensures that Kansas City functions as one cohesive experience rather than a collection of disconnected systems.

Job Description Ownership

World Cup visitor journey mapping

Unified KC front door experience testing and refinement.

End-to-end workflow analysis across digital and physical touchpoints.

Identification of user friction points.

International and domestic segment journey testing.

Documentation of workflow gaps and improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

Walk real user journeys end-to-end as a representative user across Visit KC, KC 2026, ticketing systems, hotels, QR codes, and related platforms.

Map and document complete workflows from entry point to outcome.

Identify friction points, workflow gaps, confusing transitions, and inconsistent language.

Ensure that value to the user is clear at every step of engagement.

Test and refine the Unified KC front door to ensure seamless routing and intuitive user flow.

Support country and segment analysis to better understand how different audiences search, engage, and prioritize experiences.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve digital and physical user touchpoints.

Create structured documentation of findings and recommendations for workflow improvement.

Support World Cup–critical journey optimization.

Remain current on digital engagement trends, user behavior patterns, and platform best practices.

Develop structured journey maps and workflow documentation.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to manage multiple journey analyses simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Ability to evaluate digital workflows objectively and constructively.

Comfort operating across marketing, technology, and operational environments.

Ability to work flexible hours during testing periods as needed.
