Position Summary As a Field Service Representative at Oncor, you are responsible for working service orders involving the disconnecting, reconnecting, setting, reading, and investigating of meters on residential, commercial, and industrial premises. These orders must be completed safely and within prescribed timeframes to ensure the proper delivery and measurement of electric energy. This position will have an assigned service territory within the Oncor Electric Delivery Company market and will be based out of the Odessa Service Center. Applicants who reside within 30 miles of Monahans, Texas, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Determine the type of meters required to initiate service.

Maintain professionalism when engaging with residential and commercial customers.

Use proper test equipment to verify voltage and protect against faulty or hazardous conditions.

Ensure service order completion within specified timeframes across a diverse geographic area while adhering to Company safety rules/regulations and providing quality customer service.

Ensure the integrity of the Company’s measurement devices and energy delivery by evaluating premises for diversion of energy, faulty or inappropriate wiring, incorrect recording of readings, and properly documenting diversion.

Drive for long periods as needed.

Perform all essential aspects and functions of the job, as well as any additional job requirements.

Education & Experience

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Applicants with experience in meter reading or related electric measurement are encouraged to apply.

Applicants with experience working with electric utility field service orders are encouraged to apply.

Demonstrates knowledge of metering applications, including proper voltages and associated hazards.

Able to recognize sub‑standard metering installations and take appropriate action.

Interacts effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues in accordance with Company policies and standards.

Demonstrates contribution to workgroup and Company goals.

Performs work with minimal supervision while maintaining a mentoring relationship.

Follows Measurement Services safety procedures to ensure the safety of employees and the public.
