The Role As Sales Engineer, you'll partner directly with the sales team to provide technical expertise throughout the entire sales cycle. You'll lead product demos that tell a story, deliver technical presentations that resonate with enterprise audiences, and act as a trusted advisor who understands customer challenges as well as your product's capabilities. You'll be instrumental in closing deals while ensuring customers succeed from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle
Lead compelling product demos and technical presentations that showcase the value and differentiation of threat detection solutions
Act as a trusted technical advisor, understanding customer challenges and aligning solutions with their business outcomes
Collaborate with product and marketing teams to refine messaging and sharpen go-to-market strategy based on customer feedback
Translate complex technical concepts into business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Provide critical feedback to product teams based on customer interactions and industry trends
Support the sales team in closing deals by demonstrating technical feasibility and building customer confidence
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sales Engineer or in a technical sales role within early‑stage cybersecurity startups
Strong technical foundation in AI, data analytics, threat detection, or network security solutions • Deep understanding of how non‑human identity and threat detection products solve real enterprise problems
Ability to engage seamlessly with both technical stakeholders (architects, engineers) and business decision‑makers (CISOs, CIOs)
Exceptional communication and presentation skills - you make complex concepts clear and compelling
Passion for cybersecurity and genuine curiosity about emerging threats and solutions
Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, early‑stage environments with ambiguity and rapid iteration
Track record of supporting sales teams in closing enterprise deals
Based in or willing to work hybrid from the New York area
