Womankind uses the multidimensionality of our Asian heritage to work alongside survivors of gender-based violence as they build a path to healing. We are working tirelessly to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and our communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice. In addition to promoting healing and safety through service provision, Womankind promotes gender justice through research, coalition building, policy analysis, and community education and mobilization.
The AmeriCorps VISTA member will build Womankind’s capacity of the Development department to leverage resources by enhancing grant research, writing, and reporting processes across foundation, corporation, state, and local government institutional sources. The VISTA member will participate in various aspects of the grantmaking and management process including prospect research; drafting Letters of Intent (LOIs); drafting full grant applications; and creating, gathering, and organizing supplemental proposal documents. They will learn about Womankind’s current processes, monitor areas of improvement, and, where appropriate, develop new ways of doing things that create more efficiency, effectiveness, and/or reach.
