Continuous Improvement Specialist

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our Company. In this position, you will be responsible for providing continuous improvement support and strategic decision-making across the AMG V facilities. By leveraging data analytics, process improvement tools, and lean management principles, you will drive initiatives that enhance safety, quality, throughput, and financial performance.
Responsible and Duties
Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements and Company policies and procedures, including AMG’s Code of Business Conduct.
Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG’s Values.
Track and monitor internal production, quality, and cost data to ensure compliance with targets.
Standardize operational best practices related to throughput and quality.
Facilitate root cause analysis for both operational and transactional challenges.
Build dashboards or other visual tools to highlight business KPIs and performance trends.
Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping sessions, and DMAIC projects to drive measurable process improvements.
Maintain a project pipeline and provide feedback on improvement initiatives to demonstrate business impact.
Develop standardized reporting templates and measurement systems to ensure data integrity across departments.
Manage a material balance system to track inventory flow, quantify process variances, and support loss reduction initiatives across all stages of production."
Act as an interdepartmental liaison to connect key personnel to drive strategic decision making.
Audit quality, shipping, and production processes to verify consistency and validity of execution.
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies; Green Belt required.
Experience in operations and process improvement in a manufacturing, metals, or recycling industry preferred.
Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
