Home Designer - Textile & Hardgoods

We are seeking a talented CAD Designer to support the design and development of hard and soft home goods. This role requires a strong eye for detail, CAD design expertise, and knowledge of the product development process from concept through production. This role will report to our Design Director and follow through with all products from concept to production. We are looking for a creative self starter with a good attitude and can easily work with others. This is a growing division with a lot of room for creativity and growth. The role is based out of our NYC office and offers hybrid schedule (3 days a week). The hybrid schedule is non negotiable.
Duties
Create detailed CAD designs and technical renderings for hard and soft home goods products including food storage, kitchen gadgets, home textiles, etc.
Ability to research trends, develop colorways and come up with original designs as needed.
Produce quality tech packs in a timely manner based on direction given
Manage and coordinate samples
Communicate with overseas factories and vendors to clarify specifications, resolve technical questions, and support the development process.
Ability to meet deadlines
Work on initial costing and pricing with knowledge on how to adjust designs as needed to fit current targets
Qualifications/Requirements
Ability to create high-quality models and renderings using SolidWorks, Keyshot, or similar CAD software
Skills using Photoshop and Illustrator are required
Understanding of soft and hard home products as well as the product development process
2-7 years experience in design
Ability to manage multiple projects with guidance from management
