Job Description

The News Multimedia Producer plays a critical role in shaping daily newscasts, special coverage, and streaming content for a Spanish‑language audience. This role requires a strong Spanish‑language writer with excellent editorial judgment, creative storytelling skills, and a clear understanding of how news is consumed across linear, digital, and streaming platforms. The ideal candidate knows how to balance urgency and accuracy with a more natural, conversational tone that resonates with today’s Latino audiences—especially on streaming and social‑forward formats.

Editorial & Creative Responsibilities

Produce compelling content for daily newscasts, specials, and streaming platforms, combining strong journalism with creative storytelling.

Write clear, engaging intros, tags, teases, and scripts using language that is accurate, accessible, and aligned with current trends and audience behavior.

Adapt writing style to different platforms—traditional broadcast, live streaming, clips, and social—while maintaining editorial standards.

Monitor breaking news, national and international headlines, and cultural trends, with a focus on relevance and impact for Latino communities.

Translate and adapt editorial segments from English to Spanish, prioritizing meaning, tone, and cultural context over literal translation.

Prepare and support news interviews, including background research, script development, and conversational framing for live and streaming formats.

Edit correspondents’ and contributors’ scripts to ensure clarity, flow, accuracy, and a strong editorial voice.

Serve as a final editorial checkpoint for scripts prior to air or stream, managing rapid changes in a live‑news environment.

Streaming, Digital & Audience Focus

Understand how streaming and digital platforms shape storytelling, pacing, and language.

Write in a more relaxed, natural, and audience‑forward tone when appropriate, especially for streaming shows, explainers, and live digital coverage.

Collaborate with digital and social teams to ensure editorial alignment across platforms.

Help develop content that feels timely, shareable, and relevant without compromising journalistic integrity.

Work closely with Senior Producers, reporters, correspondents, and assignment desks to develop coverage plans and story angles.

Participate in daily editorial calls and weekly planning meetings, contributing story ideas and creative approaches.

Editorial Standards & Execution

Balance speed, accuracy, and creativity in a fast‑paced, multi‑platform newsroom.

Push storytelling forward while respecting journalistic ethics, network standards, and brand voice.

Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Communicate clearly and consistently with supervisors and team members regarding editorial priorities and production status.

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the Senior Producer and supports broader newsroom and special‑coverage initiatives as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

Strong Spanish‑language writer with experience producing news content for broadcast and/or streaming platforms.

Bilingual English/Spanish required, with proven ability to adapt content culturally and editorially.

Deep understanding of current events, politics, and social issues affecting Latino audiences.

Comfortable writing in conversational tones.

Passion for innovative storytelling and evolving news formats.
