Instructional Designer and Documentation Lead The role is responsible for designing, developing, and managing operational training documentation and materials using industry-standard instructional design principles. This includes creating engaging training videos, writing step‑by‑step procedures, and developing comprehensive learning materials that ensure clarity, accuracy, and accessibility across all operational teams.

Responsibilities

Design and develop interactive training programs and curricula for operational teams.

Manage and administer the organization’s LMS, including user setup, course assignments, and reporting.

Write clear, concise, and well-structured operational training documentation using Information Mapping methodology.

Develop user‑friendly forms, quick reference guides, and communications.

Plan and execute learning projects from concept to completion.

Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables for instructional initiatives.

Serve as a backup to Lead Retail Trainer.

Preferred Skills

Information Mapping writing methodology experience preferred.

Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited guidance.

Adaptability to change priorities and processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or related field required.

5+ years’ experience in instructional design and multimedia training development, including video authoring tools (Vyond, Camtasia).

5+ years’ experience writing business documentation and/or corporate communications.5+ years’ experience managing, administering, and configuring a Learning Management System.
