About the role As the first hire in
Strategy and Business Operations
for Papa Community, you will work closely with the GM as an operator, strategic thinker, and problem‑solver.
You will take ambiguous problems, turn them into clear recommendations, and implement changes in an agile way with a focus on learning velocity.
You’ll drive a wide portfolio of high‑priority work to produce meaningful business impact.
What you’ll do:
Own special projects end‑to‑end: scoping, execution, stakeholder management, and reporting.
Drive business intelligence by digging into data, conducting complex analysis around market and competitive trends, reading extensive external research, analyzing internal and external data, and conducting interviews with subject matter experts.
Lead end‑to‑end evaluations of platforms and tools the team is considering adopting – building structured scorecards, running demos, synthesizing trade‑offs, and delivering clear recommendations.
Synthesize findings to share with senior management and relevant stakeholders to keep them abreast of changing market trends.
Build financial, operational, and workforce models, design dashboards to track KPIs and generate insights to guide decisions.
Use data, member feedback, and operational insights to identify gaps in current systems and propose scalable solutions before they become bottlenecks.
Create onboarding and operational infrastructure to support rapid team scaling.
Skills we look for:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, build financial models, and develop business case analyses (market sizing, P&L scenarios, new offering launches).
Excellent written and verbal communication – you can distill complex strategies into simple, actionable recommendations for any audience.
Expert‑level proficiency in Excel; comfort building and maintaining operational trackers, dashboards, and data systems.
Results‑oriented and independently capable – you define initiatives from the ground up, seek out information, solve conceptual problems, and deliver outcomes with minimal oversight.
Strong project management instincts – you can hold multiple workstreams, manage stakeholders, and keep things moving without losing quality.
Organized and detail‑oriented – you move fast without making mistakes, and you know intuitively when to slow down and when speed matters more than perfection.
Resourceful and pragmatic – you take pride in high‑quality work and hold yourself to a high bar, but have strong intuition for what's "good enough" to maintain execution velocity.
Collaborative and effective across diverse functions, backgrounds, and working styles – you bring people along rather than going around them.
Low ego and outcomes‑driven – you roll up your sleeves, dive into the details, and care about the result, not the credit.
Growth mindset and genuinely excited to build from the ground up – you seek feedback, learn fast, and are energized by the ambiguity that comes with an early‑stage venture.
4+ years of experience, with 2‑3 at a top‑tier management consulting firm (Bain, BCG, McKinsey or equivalent) and 1‑3 years of experience in healthcare.
Passionate about improving healthcare access and outcomes.
Preferred qualifications
MBA a plus, but not required – we care far more about what you've built and how you think.
Prior experience at a high‑growth healthcare startup.

Target salary range of $120,000‑$150,000.
