POSITION SUMMARY
The Website Manager serves as the primary contact for all aspects of the organization’s website(s) and mobile application handling a range of responsibilities including but not limited to graphic web design and development, routine site, and content maintenance. Assumes responsibility for various updates to ensure an optimal user experience and the alignment of the website/mobile application with the goals and objectives of the Clayton County Public Schools, Superintendent, and Communications, Public Relations & Marketing Division. Provides training as well as support to school-based and district-level assigned web staff. Remains up to date on current trends, events, and situations to identify/create strategies to improve the website and mobile application functionality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Defines, develops, and implements projects to enhance the district website and digital communication tools in ways that align with the district’s and division’s strategic goals.
Develops comprehensive, measurable goals and strategies for website and web staff.
Maintains a fresh and cohesive website design; monitors web traffic to increase website presence and improve performance/engagement.
Creates and/or oversees the creation of digital content including, but not limited to writing, graphics and video.
Manages and/or oversees the management of the website and mobile application content.
Consults with district and school-based leaders to manage as well as evaluates tools and methods used to deploy district information.
Works with identified website host vendor to troubleshoot matters associated with the district’s website and recommends key tools to support on‑going short and long‑term usage.
Monitors web‑related software licenses to ensure compliance and accessibility.
Remains up to date on current trends and new technologies that will assist the district in communicating to various audiences.
Researches other web streaming technologies to adequately brand/market the district’s internal offerings and services.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, program software, computer science, or other related fields required.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional website/digital communications management, information management experience and content writing and graphics design required.
Makes decisions and final recommendations which routinely affect the activities of others.
Master Certified Web Professional Designer (CWP) and/or Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) preferred.
High level of judgment required: supervisor is available on limited time basis; individual required to establish and evaluate departmental and organizational objectives; media relations; independent judgment is required to review and approve major recommendations. Ability to interact positively and productively with all officials.
Requires regular, frequent contact with internal personnel of influence and decision‑making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter‑organizational leaders and administrators.
Requires frequent contact with external personnel of influence and decision‑making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills are required for working with interdepartmental and inter‑divisional leaders and administrators.
Responsible for performing multiple functions with a high‑level of accountability for effective operation and results. Effective time management and organization abilities are required.
Ability to create digital content using various software including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Suite.
In‑depth knowledge of HTML and CSS or other web‑based technologies; understanding of analytics, analytic measurement tools and Search Engine Optimization (SEO), backend data collection and aggregation.
Knowledge of web content management platforms.
May require travel to off‑site training locations, school site visits, and community site visits.
NOTE: This is a grade 27, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 8.
