Job Title: Lead Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee day‑to‑day field operations for a 280‑unit multifamily development in Cary, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multifamily or commercial construction, excel at managing site activities, and be confident in making independent decisions when the Lead Superintendent is offsite. This role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented professional with strong knowledge of the construction sequence and foundational concrete work.
Responsibilities
Provide daily onsite supervision of all construction activities and subcontractors.
Oversee site work, including layout, scheduling, logistics, and adherence to safety standards.
Manage and process RFIs, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
Review shop drawings and coordinate with design teams and subcontractors to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Evaluate concrete work at the foundation and site level, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to plans.
Maintain schedule awareness and coordinate work to meet project milestones.
Identify field issues, recommend solutions, and make informed decisions during periods when the Lead Superintendent is not onsite.
Ensure that all work meets project specifications, building codes, and company standards.
Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and documentation related to field activity.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience as a superintendent on multifamily or commercial construction projects.
5+ years of experience completing RFIs and reviewing shop drawings in an active construction environment.
Strong understanding of concrete work, particularly foundations and site concrete.
Ability to interpret construction documents, schedules, and specifications.
Proven ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with large‑scale, wood‑frame or podium multifamily developments.
Familiarity with specific construction standards and processes is a plus.
Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software.
Work Environment The position is on‑site in Cary, NC, overseeing a large multifamily project. The work environment requires a hands‑on approach to managing construction activities and subcontractors on a daily basis.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington, VA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00/yr.
