Compliance Specialist - CUI / ITAR & DFAR
Position location is flexible and may office from a branch in Winona, MN, Greensboro, NC or High Point, NC. Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm.
Overview Working as a Full-Time Compliance Specialist focused on Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) relating to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) & Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), you will be a strategic liaison between Fastenal's Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Product Development, Sales, and Customers. Your main responsibility will be advising the groups supporting product and supplier compliance needs relative to regulatory and/or customer requirements. You will report to and work directly with the Director of Supply Chain Compliance to help research, create solutions, and enforce compliance throughout our supply chain and subsidiaries surrounding ITAR/DFAR. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.
Responsibilities
Continually improving processes to mitigate risk and its effects on areas of the organization
Assessing results of completed audits to identify risk areas, gaps, and/or deficiencies within current processes
Performing business system audits using existing checklists and processes to ensure system compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
Generating periodic and ad hoc reports
Completing customer certifications & representations packets
Reviewing customer RFQ language for contract compliance
Maintaining Fastenal's registration & business information related to UEI's and CAGE Codes through Sam.gov
Maintaining Fastenal's SPRS Score through PIEE as it relates to NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Registration
Overseeing and managing system tools for proper compliance amongst all US persons accessing CUI
Maintaining and updating training guidelines internally for employees who will access CUI
Designing interdepartmental communication
Enforcing company policy with regards to supply chain compliance
Researching regulations and the applicability to Fastenal surrounding CUI / ITAR / DFAR
Writing business impact statements
Using PeopleSoft, Internet, and Microsoft Office Suite regularly
Required Position Qualifications
Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
Possess or working towards a degree in Business, Business Law, Finance, Marketing or related education OR relevant Compliance, Distribution, Manufacturing, ITAR/DFAR or industry related work experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
Possess a positive attitude with eagerness to learn new tasks
Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning, and decision making skills
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and follow through
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Work independently as well as in a team environment
Willingness to travel (averaging 1-4 trips/year within the US; potential for international)
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Prior Problem solving and project management experience
Prior experience related to CUI and ITAR / DFAR regulations

Compensation The base pay range for this position is $50,000 - 85,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
