
Marketing and Communications Intern

Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS), the central IT department at the University of Georgia, is seeking two motivated and detail‑oriented students to serve as Communications & Marketing Interns for Summer 2026.
This internship provides hands‑on, professional experience supporting university‑wide technology initiatives through marketing, digital communications, and public relations efforts. Interns will work closely with the EITS Planning & Engagement team and gain valuable real‑world experience in content creation, social media strategy, analytics, and digital communications.
There is potential for continued employment in Fall (maximum of one additional semester).
Term:
Summer 2026 (May 1 – August 14, 2026)
Hours:
12–20 hours per week (maximum 20)
Minimum Commitment:
180 hours
Openings:

Eligibility Requirements Applicants must:
Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at UGA
Have an expected graduation date of
December 2026 or later
Have a
minimum GPA of 2.7
Be majoring in one of the following:
Marketing (MARK) – Terry College of Business
Advertising & Public Relations (ADPR) – Grady College
Have completed an upper‑division course in their major (e.g., COMM 3300/3700, MARK 3000/3001, ADPR 3100)
Be available to begin in late April or early May 2026
Be present in the Athens area for Summer 2026
Be comfortable working in a professional office environment
Key Responsibilities Interns will support EITS marketing and communications initiatives by:
Creating and managing content for social media platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook)
Designing graphics, flyers, signage, posters, and promotional materials
Writing and editing website content, stories, and digital communications
Assisting with social media analytics and reporting
Promoting EITS services to students, faculty, and staff
Supporting orientation and recruitment initiatives
Raising awareness of university‑wide technology updates
Contributing to multimedia projects (photo, video, digital signage)
Assisting with our Knowledge Base review and content updates
Providing proofreading and administrative support as needed
Interns will produce professional deliverables used in official EITS and University communications.
Preferred Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Customer‑service mindset
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, or similar design tools
Familiarity with AP Style
Basic understanding of social media strategy and analytics
Photography or multimedia experience is a plus
Professional Development Interns receive:

Exposure to real‑world communication strategy and university operations
Experience applying classroom knowledge to professional projects
