Estimator - Commercial

The Estimator oversees the design and cost estimation during the bidding phases, while collaborating closely with the general contractor, design team, and ILB executive team, including our vendors and subcontractors. Minimum qualifications include a working knowledge of operations and estimating practices at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience, and two years' experience in estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience in construction management. Key skills and competencies include strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel, Accubid Estimating Software, and Bluebeam Revu are required. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of estimating, cost control and system design, plus the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems is also required. Other requirements include a safe driving record and a valid driver's license according to legal requirements, and experience in construction management with a commercial and/or industrial focus. Preferred qualifications include leadership experience in a field environment. Job responsibilities include reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, attending pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate; preparing estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work; maintaining files of working documents as back-up for estimates and figures; interfacing with owner, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility; developing relationships with the general contractors, owners and other design team members including our vendors and subcontractors; following awarded contracts as assigned may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.; assisting the operations team with turnover meetings and internal budgeting; driving; and performing other tasks and special projects as assigned. Compensation and benefits include a salary range of $105,000 - $145,000 annually, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k with company match, and paid time off.
