Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, voluntary benefits, and leave of absence programs. Lead annual open enrollment initiatives end-to-end including planning, vendor coordination, employee communications, system readiness, and post-enrollment review. Lead oversight of leave of absence administration in partnership with third-party administrators, ensuring timely employee outreach, accurate tracking, escalation management, and coordination with payroll and HR teams. Own and manage the return-to-work process for employees on leave, partnering with managers, HR, payroll, and shared services to ensure smooth reintegration and compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Manage the ADA interactive process and reasonable accommodation coordination in partnership with employees, managers, HR stakeholders, and third-party administrators, ensuring timely documentation, follow-up, and compliance with applicable guidelines. Process complex or escalated benefit enrollments and qualifying life events as needed, while ensuring shared services teams execute standard transactions accurately and within timelines. Lead ACA health compliance initiatives including eligibility governance, partnership with ADP, data validation, and support for annual reporting requirements. Own benefits-related compliance responsibilities including coordination of audits, regulatory documentation, and adherence to federal and state requirements such as ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and Section 125. Manage relationships with benefits vendors and brokers, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective service delivery. Oversee review and reconciliation of vendor reports, enrollment data, and benefit invoices to ensure data accuracy and financial integrity. Partner closely with payroll, HR teams, and shared services to ensure accurate deductions, carrier file transmissions, and employee records. Serve as escalation point for complex employee benefits inquiries and claims-related issues. Maintain benefits documentation, process guidelines, and employee communication materials. Support implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives. Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000 Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan. Work Requirements: This role is considered an on-site position located in Windsor, CT. You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of U.S. employee benefits administration including health and welfare plans and 401 (k) retirement plans. Understanding of healthcare plan structures including self-funded arrangements, HMOs, and PPOs. Strong Microsoft Excel skills with ability to perform data reconciliation and reporting. Experience working with HRIS and benefits platforms; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred. Strong vendor coordination and stakeholder management skills. High attention to detail with strong ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Canadian or Puerto Rico benefits administration preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 35 years of relevant experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or benefits compliance. Progress toward or completion of professional certification in employee benefits or HR is a plus.
