Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in supporting the strategic and operational delivery of Human Resources services across the organization. This position partners closely with HR leadership and administrative stakeholders to coordinate critical HR programs, systems, and compliance initiatives that support organizational effectiveness. In this capacity, the Human Resources Specialist helps ensure the integrity of employee data and HR processes while supporting onboarding, employee lifecycle activities, reporting, and audit readiness. The role contributes to the continuous improvement of HR operations by assisting with process optimization, maintaining compliance with applicable policies and regulations, and supporting departmental initiatives that advance organizational priorities. Success in this position requires strong organizational and analytical capabilities, sound judgment in handling confidential information, and the ability to connect HR operational activities with broader organizational goals and workforce strategies. Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Maintains HR/Benefits data in human resources information system (HRIS), creates and distributes reports from the database including organizational charts and staff rosters. Creates and maintains personnel files. Processes personnel action change forms and distribute as needed. Creates, distributes, collects, tracks, and files signed job change letters and job descriptions for staff changes. Processes and distributes incoming department mail both e-mail and US mail. Oversees immunization compliance. Administers Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) pull program. Provides time sensitive audit preparation support. Completes employment verifications. Orders office supplies for the HR team. Processes onboarding paperwork, inputs new hire data in HRIS, and creates badges. Back up to conduct bi-weekly new hire orientations Back up to submit workers' compensation claims Provides confidential administrative, operational, and project support to the HR team. Qualifications

Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to consistently meet deadlines. Proactive, self-starter with the ability to take initiative and seek solutions independently. Very detail oriented; highly organized and resourceful with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with multi-tasking and changing priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with human resources information systems (HRIS). Ability to handle data confidentiality. Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree required or commensurate work experience. A minimum of one year of HR experience, and strong knowledge of HR processes and best practices. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Society of Human Resources Professional -Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred. $26.50 - $33.12 an hour Donor Network West takes a market-based approach to pay. All candidates' starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications and interview performance.
