TARGET SYSTEMS REPAIRER
(Position Description Number
PDD2709000 ). It is part of the
WY Training Center Command , Wyoming Army National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.
Duties The primary purpose of this position is to repair, install, operate, and maintain a variety of Army Standard Integrated Target Systems, such as Armor Moving Target Carriers (AMTC), Infantry Moving Target Carrier Systems (IMTCS); Target Holding Mechanism Tank Gunnery (THMTG) and Enhanced Remote Target Systems (ERETS).
Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs voice and/or nonvoice communications systems including intercom equipment; electronic systems; terminal communications equipment; modem; fiber‑optic end equipment; T1‑carriers, and line drivers.
Installs thermal target equipment to include, but not limited to, AC or DC powered thermal heating panels.
Isolates faulty components and determines extent of repair or replacement required to restore power, signal, or correct mechanical operation.
Inspects and tests Army Standard Integrated Target Systems, using wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and test equipment (i.e., voltmeters, multiplexers, miniature consoles, and digital multi‑meters).
Operates and maintains wheeled vehicles assigned to the shop.

Requirements Conditions of Employment
Open to all United States military branches.
Military members: Submit STP, vMPF rip, DVR, ERS, MBS, PDR or equivalent with resume.
Prior service members: Submit a DD Form 214 (Member 4 Copy).
Must be assessed into WY ARNG before appointment. May take up to 120 days.
Must become a member of the Wyoming Army National Guard before appointment.
Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a T3/SECRET security clearance.
May be required to successfully complete a two‑year trial period.
Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation.
Recruitment/relocation incentives are NOT authorized.
PCS costs are not authorized; must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected.
Employment Conditions
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student‑loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a technician position over 180 days will result in suspension or termination of these military incentives. Military technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a technician.

Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
Position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Candidates must have knowledge of standard troubleshooting techniques to troubleshoot common recurring defects.
Specialized Experience
Must possess experience or training demonstrating knowledge of electronics, test equipment, measuring devices, and equipment used to assemble and disassemble, clean, replace, or adjust target systems and control panels.
Candidates must be proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, specifications, and wiring diagrams to aid in minor troubleshooting and repairs of defective equipment.
NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide dates and hours worked per week with description of their specialized experience from (e.g., 02/2015 – 03/2017 or Feb 2017 – Mar 2017).
Military Requirements Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
Training Requirements Selected candidates will be required to obtain and maintain Range Safety Level 2 certification and a Wildland Firefighting Red Card within 12 months of employment.
