Quality System Responsibility
Irrespective of other responsibilities, have the freedom and authority to initiate action to prevent product non-conformity, identify and record quality problems, recommend solutions, verify implementation, and control further process until the deficiency has been corrected. Position Scope
Lay out dimensions on sheets, plates, and structural shape for shearing, punching, rolling or bending material. Plan and develop layout as outlined in blueprints. Must fit and align fabricated parts for welding or assembly operations. Key Duties And Responsibilities
Receive work assignments. Study prints to determine proper approach to job and proper torch template. Get proper material from steel storage. Shear, punch or bend parts as necessary to tolerances of blueprints. Torch parts as necessary to tolerances of blueprints. Notify supervisor or team leader of any problems. Operate a Fork Truck. Other Duties And Responsibilities
As assigned perform work of an equal or lower grade classification on temporary basis. Follow all applicable safety procedures and policies as outlined in the BMG Employee Handbook. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Education/Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Six months related experience preferred. Ability to read blueprints. Basic math skills Basic computer skills preferred. Have a working knowledge of: Press brake, shear, punch press, iron worker, cutting torch, hoist, scales, tape measure, hand tools, dividers, compass, protractors, roll-former, saw, and hand grinder & deburring tools. Have a working knowledge of the following materials: stainless steel, aluminum, and a variety of flats, angles, and round materials. Environment/Physical Requirements
Lift, push, and pull up 35 to 50 lbs. occasionally. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting. Walk for extended periods of time. May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion. Must be able to access and navigate within each department at the organization's facilities (i.e. climb stairs, ladders, etc.)
