Key Responsibilities Perform
inpatient coding quality audits
for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Validate: Principal and secondary diagnoses Procedures POA (Present on Admission) indicators DRG assignments Identify
missed coding opportunities
and revenue leakage Review medical record abstraction and discharge disposition accuracy Analyze coding trends, denials, and root causes Provide reports and insights to improve coding quality and compliance Ensure adherence to
federal, state, and payer-specific regulations Stay updated with
coding guidelines and regulatory changes
Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of: ICD-10-CM / ICD-10-PCS DRG assignment and validation CPT coding (preferred) Medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes Experience with
coding audits, compliance, and revenue cycle Analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends Excellent communication skills to interact with clinicians and stakeholders Proficiency in
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong organizational and time management skills
