About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Underwriting to lead tax credit equity and debt underwriting, as well as project management of LIHTC projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently leading the underwriting and closing of debt facilities and equity investments, ensuring compliance with all tax provisions, and managing both internal and external relationships. This role requires a strong background in LIHTC, with a focus on underwriting and closing, and the ability to train and mentor junior staff. The VP will also be involved in financial modeling, risk analysis, and will be expected to demonstrate advanced proficiency in understanding and identifying associated risks, particularly those related to tax credit developments.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business, with a minimum of 7 years' LIHTC experience and 5 years' of LIHTC or CRE underwriting and closing experience. Preferred qualifications include a higher level of experience in LIHTC and tax credit syndication, as well as advanced technical knowledge of the LIHTC program and other tax credit programs. The ideal candidate will embrace the company's values, have a strong focus on action and problem-solving, and be adept at working under pressure. Strong presentation skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to proactively collaborate to create a best-in-class platform are also desired.
