The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent plays a key role in delivering consistent, high‑quality playing conditions that meet the expectations of a private club membership. This position works closely with the Superintendent to manage daily golf course maintenance operations, lead staff, and uphold the club’s standards for course presentation, playability, and member satisfaction.

development position , offering hands‑on experience and mentorship to prepare the individual for future advancement to a Golf Course Superintendent role.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and execution of all golf course maintenance practices, including mowing, fertilization, aerification, and pest management
Help maintain consistent playing conditions with a focus on greens performance, fairway quality, and overall course aesthetics
Supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff to ensure efficient daily operations and a strong team culture
Assist in scheduling staff and assigning daily tasks to meet course needs and member play demands
Support irrigation management, including daily monitoring, scheduling, and minor repairs
Apply fertilizers and plant protectants in compliance with all regulations and best management practices
Monitor turf health and course conditions, making recommendations for improvements when necessary
Assist with course setup, ensuring proper tee, pin, and bunker conditions aligned with club standards
Maintain accurate records of chemical applications, weather data, and maintenance activities
Communicate effectively with the Superintendent regarding course conditions, staffing, and equipment needs
Promote and enforce safe working conditions for all team members
Represent the maintenance team in a professional manner when interacting with members
