Director of Youth Ministry

leads and cultivates a dynamic ministry for students in

grades 6-12 , helping them grow as disciples who love God, serve others, and live as witnesses to the gospel. This leader builds meaningful relationships with youth and their families while creating opportunities for spiritual growth, Christian community, and active participation in the church's life and mission. The Director of Youth Ministry collaborates with the pastoral staff, church leadership, and volunteers to foster a welcoming, engaging environment where young people can develop a personal faith in Christ and grow in spiritual maturity. This position reports to the

Senior Pastor

and works closely with the church staff. This is a

full-time position

requiring a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, retreats, and summer trips. Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Lead Weekly Youth Discipleship Gatherings Plan and lead Sunday youth programming, including teaching, activities, and small group experiences. Provide leadership for youth gatherings by welcoming students, communicating announcements, and guiding prayer and discussion. Prepare and maintain youth ministry spaces and ensure they are ready for ministry activities. 2. Build Relationships with Youth and Families Develop meaningful relationships with students and their families. Follow up with new and visiting youth and encourage ongoing engagement in the ministry. Maintain a visible presence in the lives of youth by attending school and extracurricular events when possible. 3. Recruit and Develop Volunteers Recruit, equip, and support adult volunteers who serve in youth ministry. Maintain communication with small group leaders and ministry volunteers. Provide training and encouragement for small group and Sunday school leaders. Help youth discover their gifts and provide opportunities to serve. 4. Plan Events, Retreats, and Mission Experiences Plan and implement youth events and special gatherings throughout the year. Coordinate logistics such as volunteers, supplies, and necessary paperwork. Lead or coordinate major experiences such as summer activities, mission trips, and retreats. 5. Communicate with Youth, Families, and the Church Provide regular communication through youth newsletter, email, text, and social media to keep youth and families informed. Share updates, invitations, and ministry highlights with the congregation. 6. Coordinate Ministry Administration Collaborate with the Administrative Assistant in keeping accurate records, including contact information and medical release forms. Monitor volunteer sign-ups and assist with scheduling ministry leaders. Manage expense reporting and assist with budget-related tasks. 7. Collaborate with Church Leadership Participate in staff meetings Collaborate with church staff to support the mission of the church. Plan Youth Council and parent meetings as needed. Assist with church-wide ministries such as worship leadership and outreach events. Assist with ministry to upcoming youth, including Vacation Bible School and Club 45.
