Job Summary: Real-Time Laboratories (RTL), a subsidiary of Elbit America, is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives across defense electronics and integrated subsystem markets.
This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities with defense OEMs, system integrators, and technology partners across the U.S. defense industrial base. The Director will work directly with prime contractors and subsystem suppliers to position RTL’s capabilities in electronics, sensing, and system integration within next-generation defense platforms.
The position requires a strong understanding of the defense supply chain and the ability to build relationships with program leadership, engineering organizations, and capture teams at major defense companies.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Develop and execute business development strategy to expand RTL’s presence within the U.S. defense industrial base.
Identify and pursue new opportunities with defense OEMs, prime contractors, and subsystem suppliers.
Build strategic relationships with engineering leadership, program managers, and capture teams across defense organizations.
Position RTL technologies and capabilities within emerging defense programs and platform upgrades.
Identify opportunities for RTL components, electronics, sensing technologies, and test capabilities within larger system architectures.
Lead opportunity qualification and capture strategy development.
Coordinate with engineering and program leadership to align customer requirements with RTL capabilities.
Support proposal development and strategic customer engagement throughout the capture lifecycle.
Monitor market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging defense technology areas.
Represent RTL at industry engagements, program reviews, and customer meetings.
Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of the U.S. defense industrial base and supply chain
Experience engaging with prime contractors and subsystem suppliers on defense programs
Ability to position technical solutions within larger system architectures and platform programs
Proven ability to build long-term strategic relationships with defense industry partners
Strong communication and executive presentation skills
Ability to work closely with engineering teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions
Strategic thinking with strong market awareness across defense technology sectors
Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification
A master’s degree is preferred
A bachelor's degree is required
Specific Degree Field Required: BA or BS
10+ years of functional (using skill set) experience is required
5-10 years of management experience is required
10+ years of industry experience is required
Training Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position):
ESD
Safety Training, as dictated by the Safety Department
Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of the U.S. defense industrial base and supply chain
Experience engaging with prime contractors and subsystem suppliers on defense programs
Ability to position technical solutions within larger system architectures and platform programs
Proven ability to build long-term strategic relationships with defense industry partners
