The
Planning and Pricing Director
is a key leadership role within ATS, Inc. responsible for driving strategic planning and pricing excellence to support profitable growth and operational performance. This position ensures strong alignment between planning and pricing execution, translating data‑driven insights into clear, actionable, and scalable operating plans that support business objectives.
The Director leads and develops a high‑performing team through decisive leadership, analytical rigor, and a collaborative approach. By partnering cross‑functionally and leading critical initiatives, this role improves operational efficiency, strengthens execution, and advances enterprise‑wide performance.
What You’ll Do Planning and Forecasting
Lead fleet planning and forecasting
across the Vans network to maximize production, CPM, and RWT while minimizing preventable empty miles—dynamically adjusting strategies in real time to respond to market conditions and sustain fleet productivity.
Drive operational excellence through partnership and innovation
by implementing process improvements and planning tools that enhance efficiency, control costs, and improve service reliability, while collaborating closely with Operations to align planning with driver needs, support retention, and maintain balanced, consistent miles.
Pricing and Margin Management
Drive data‑led pricing and network strategy
by analyzing financial, market, and lane performance to optimize pricing, balance the network, and identify high‑priority growth opportunities across targeted markets.
Lead cross‑functional pricing and customer engagement efforts
Partner with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service
to refine pricing models, enhance rate integrity, support major accounts, and deliver competitive, profitable solutions that expand market presence and strengthen key relationships.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and develop a high‑performing planning and pricing team
by setting clear goals, building accountability, and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Strengthen talent and capabilities
by partnering with Talent Acquisition to recruit, onboard, and train top talent, while driving strategic initiatives that enhance skills, optimize processes, and support long‑term organizational growth.
Drive performance, risk mitigation, and fiscal discipline
by identifying operational gaps, implementing data‑driven improvements, and supporting budgets, forecasts, and cost structure optimization to improve speed, accuracy, efficiency, and service quality.
Quality and Compliance
Establish and enforce pricing and planning standards
by developing clear policies, SOPs, and contractual service requirements that ensure consistency, compliance, and executional excellence.
Additional Duties
Model and champion ATS’ Mission, Vision, and Values
by aligning leadership actions, decisions, and performance with All‑Employee Competencies while driving the business forward, building bench strength, instituting system accountability, and demonstrating organizational leadership.
Execute director‑level leadership responsibilities with integrity and flexibility , ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws, supporting business needs beyond standard hours when required, accommodating infrequent travel, and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field required (advanced degree preferred), with
8+ years
of progressive transportation or logistics experience in pricing and/or planning, including
5+ years of people leadership .
Operational & Technical Expertise:
Deep understanding of freight operations, compliance, and load planning/optimization, with proven experience leveraging
TMS, planning tools, and technology
to improve efficiency, execution, and network performance.
Analytical & Financial Acumen:
Strong ability to analyze capacity, lanes, and account data to balance daily execution with long‑term network health, supported by solid financial literacy and experience developing and managing budgets.
Leadership & Influence:
Collaborative, steady leader who communicates clearly, builds trust, and influences cross‑functionally, remaining calm under pressure while making sound decisions in a fast‑paced, high‑priority environment.

Compensation & Benefits
Total cash compensation range of this position is $110,000 to $150,000+ which includes a base salary range of $70,000 to $110,000. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance‑based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
