Opportunity The Data Analyst, Digital Shelf supports Kohler’s digital commerce growth by delivering analytical insights across retail partners, marketplaces, and owned channels that drive better decision‑making and stronger brand performance online.
This role combines analytical execution with cross‑functional collaboration – serving as an analytical partner to category merchants, supporting competitive intelligence, and helping optimize how Kohler products are discovered, presented, and purchased across every digital touchpoint.
The Data Analyst also contributes to Kohler’s Test‑to‑Learn Framework and supports the evaluation of emerging AI‑driven capabilities, helping the team experiment, learn, and scale what works.
Primary Responsibilities Merchant Enablement & Category Analytics
Serve as an analytical partner to category merchants, delivering insights, dashboards, and recommendations that help them grow their categories across digital channels.
Conduct regular performance reviews with merchant teams to review trends, diagnose issues, and align on priorities.
Identify assortment gaps, underperforming SKUs, and promotional effectiveness to provide specific, actionable guidance.
Support retailer line reviews and joint planning sessions by preparing performance data and strategic narratives.
Build self‑service reporting tools that enable merchants to access and interpret data independently.
Competitive Intelligence
Support a competitive monitoring program that tracks share of search, pricing strategies, content quality, and product positioning versus key competitors across all channels.
Monitor competitor promotional patterns, product launches, ratings trends, and retail media activity to surface actionable insights.
Contribute to quarterly competitive landscape reports with strategic implications and recommended responses.
Search & Discoverability
Track organic and paid search performance across retailers, monitoring keyword rankings, share of search, and browse placement.
Identify high‑value keyword opportunities and coverage gaps versus competitors to improve product visibility.
Develop keyword optimization recommendations and analyze the relationship between search position and sales performance.
Test & Learn Framework
Support the Digital Shelf Test‑to‑Learn Program by helping design, execute, and measure experiments for content, pricing, and merchandising.
Document test results and scalable learnings, building business cases for scaling successful approaches across channels.
Maintain testing calendars and track the experimentation pipeline in coordination with merchant priorities.
AI & Emerging Capabilities
Support the evaluation and piloting of AI tools for content optimization, automated monitoring, and predictive analytics.
Monitor trends in agentic commerce, generative AI, and other emerging technologies that may impact digital shelf dynamics.
Partner with IT and Data teams to assess feasibility and build business cases for AI‑driven capability investments.
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
1‑3 years of experience in analytics, eCommerce, digital marketing, or a related area; internships and co‑ops count.
Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets.
Foundational knowledge of SQL or willingness to learn quickly.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify trends or inconsistencies in data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with digital shelf analytics tools (e.g., Profitero, Salsify, Syndigo) preferred.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) preferred.
Understanding of eCommerce fundamentals including SEO, product content, and retail media preferred.
Travel
Minimal travel expected; occasional travel to retail partners or internal meetings as needed, approximately 0–10%.
