Reporting to the Director of Student Programs, this position collaborates with campus partners, manages departmental budgets, oversees digital marketing and social media, and
coordinates the leasing of office and locker spaces for student organizations. This position also supervises student staff, advises student leaders, and oversees the Student Events Funding Committee, which allocates resources for events that strengthen the campus community.## ResponsibilitiesProgram & Event OperationsEstablish and maintain departmental processes to support over 100 annual programs, including contract tracking, purchasing, and financial transactions.Plan and execute staff-led programs such as orientation events, welcome-back activities, and ongoing program series.Administer room reservations for the Student Programs team.Marketing & CommunicationsManage departmental websites, digital marketing initiatives, and social media platforms, including content creation and daily posting in collaboration with students.Advising & Student Leadership DevelopmentServe as a member of the Campus Events + Entertainment advising team and contribute to strategic initiatives.Advise the Student Events Funding Committee, guiding review and allocation of event funding requests.Oversee and advise student programming committees as needed, including endowed lectureships.Meet weekly with student leaders to support event progress and leadership development.Develop and implement training and assessment strategies for student leaders and staff.Student SupervisionHire, train, and supervise one graduate assistant and 4–6 student employees.Support recruitment, retention, and development of approximately 200 student volunteers.Operations & Resource ManagementManage policies and leasing processes for student organization offices and locker spaces within University Unions.Maintain budgets for Campus Events + Entertainment committees; provide fiscal advising and commit university funds as appropriate.Assess and mitigate risk, ensuring compliance with campus safety and event management policies.Other DutiesParticipate in University Unions and campus workgroups.Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Programs.## Required Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree. Minimum five years of experiences in advising and administering student
programming in a higher education setting.* Demonstrated expertise working with dynamic student populations within an educational setting.* Knowledge and skills relating to professionally and effectively advising and mentoring students.* Ability to handle multiple tasks with similar deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced and adaptable office environment.* Experience with contracting outside vendors and large-scale event management.* Excellent collaborative leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.* Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours as needed.## Preferred Qualifications* Master’s degree in higher education, college student personnel, or related field.* Experience working with and creating both departmental and student organization budgets.* Experience with risk management policies, procedures, and strategies and exercising good judgment based on the understanding of those policies and procedures. Strong problem-solving and
prioritization skills.* Ability to communicate effectively across levels of an organization using effective interpersonal skills.* Experience in assessment of educational outcomes in student activities. Ability to identify problems, use sound judgment and reasoning to make crucial decisions autonomously.* Ability to take initiative and make decisions supporting the University Unions mission and goals.
