Disney Destinations Sales Solutions is a vibrant and integrated sales, marketing, and support Teams for all Disney Destinations portfolio (Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort and Disney Signature Experiences) across multiple Travel Trade and Direct to Consumer distribution channels. Sales and marketing support is provided at a global scale and includes a wide range of channels and businesses: Travel Agencies Sales, Tour Operators, Online Travel Agencies, Ticket resellers, Airlines, Central Florida Sales, Southern California ticket sales, Meetings & Conventions, Imagination Campus, Fairy Tale weddings and more.
The
Regional Sales Director
is responsible for leading a team of remote Business Development Managers (BDM) within a territory in the USA selling six Disney portfolio products to include Walt Disney Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, NatGeo Expeditions and Adventures by Disney to deliver on annual business goals. Disney Destinations is in a season of unparalleled growth, namely in the Cruise line of business, and the RSD role will play a key role in this sustained growth.
Specific Responsibilities
Develop annual sales and marketing AOP strategies by region to deliver annual territory revenue portfolio goals.
Lead the remote front line Business Development Manager team to define and develop annual sales plan/marketing roadmap inclusive territory business objectives, tactics, timing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with top travel agencies at various levels of the client organization
Maintain a deep understanding of the Disney product portfolio.
Communicate to the team Travel Agency Sales and/or clients business rules, policies and programs in a timely and effective manner.
Bolster ongoing strategic thinking/direction for the Cast and clients, evaluating all opportunities through a lens that maximizes resources and delivers on annual revenue goals.
Influence business and Cast through clear communication, keeping team and clients aligned, focused and informed (strong verbal and written skills)
Lead the sales team to be accountable for identifying and developing sales growth opportunities.
Responsible for communication of all products and promotions Cast and Client
Apply advanced Coaching and Cast Development – Maximize talent and build a high performing team.
Actively break down barriers for the team/clients and business
Accountable for timely forecasting, tracking and reporting of territory performance.
Be the voice of the market providing ongoing competitive updates for portfolio.
Maintain relationships with internal partners across sites (Orlando and Anaheim)
Qualifications
5+ years of Domestic travel industry - Cruise industry experience preferred
5+ years of Sales background with proven experience running territory.
Seasoned experience leading salaried and hourly employees/Cast
Broad understanding of marketing principles and ability to create strategic plans, creative problem-solving skills.
Must have the ability to balance the demands of frequent travel and interaction with Cast and client.
Proven experience in managing large annual program and expense budgets.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proven history of problem-solving skillsProven leadership experience with multiple direct reports (5+)
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, depending on business demands
Bonus Qualifications
5+ years of Disney Experience
Deep knowledge of the domestic Cruise industry and the current dynamics of the trade community
