Job Description
This position is part of TCS IoT and Digital Engineering horizontal business unit to drive the growth of Smart Manufacturing and I4.0 solutions across several vertical segments in North America. The ideal candidate will have over 13 years of industry experience in sales, customer reach out, shaping customer propositions, building strong client relationships, and driving solution-based sales while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to create business opportunities and enhance value for manufacturing clients.
The Connected Plants and Industry 4.0 business unit is focused on transforming factories into digitally enabled, flexible and connected manufacturing hubs leveraging the industry 4.0 framework. These future factories are brought to life with cutting edge digital technologies, industry‑leading platforms, and deep domain expertise. AI, Automation, Analytics and Cloud enablement are central to the digital foundation. These future factories are cutting across industries such as discreet and continuous process manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), automotive, aerospace, energy, steel, resources and mining, pharma, medical devices and hi‑tech.
Key Responsibilities
Support Connected Plants Business Development for industries such as CPG, HiTech, Auto, IMC, Chemical, Aero, Pharma & Medical Devices, Energy and Resources, Steel, etc. (expertise and experience selling in at least two industries is mandatory)
Analyze customer requirements (proactive pitch, RFI, RFP) to arrive at the best fit/innovative solution to meet customer needs
Provide oversight to large/strategic transformative engagements with clients, participate in steering committees, address issues and challenges in delivery, execution, and support
Engage with different sales and pre‑sales teams of TCS to architect and articulate comprehensive solutions for addressing client needs
Coordinate with external partners (where necessary) to define product leverage for client needs/fit
Support development of sales & pre‑sales pitch & value proposition and win high‑quality proposals with top‑notch brand messaging in I4.0 / Connected Plants
Position the unit and its services in the market in engagements with analysts, business partners, product vendors, events, seminars, etc.
Put in place the delivery engagement for executing client needs
Actively drive awareness of Connected Plant solutions with targeted clients through tradeshows, research‑led thought leadership, client roadshows, and workshops, etc.
Qualifications
IoT / Industry 4.0 / Plant Solutions
Worked across industries & partner products
Consultative sales experience with advisory services and skills for point‑of‑view articulation at CX level
Experience leading large bids, especially in plant/manufacturing services sales/pre‑sales responsibilities
Understanding of key digital technologies such as IoT, AI/ML, AR/VR, etc., and products that leverage these technologies
Good understanding of technology trends, market forces, and industry imperatives
Industry certifications in digital technologies (Azure, AWS, AI/ML, etc.) will be advantageous
Experience with different digital technologies for solution design, especially edge‑to‑cloud competencies
Industry experience across manufacturing, chemical & process, IMC, auto, aero, pharma, hi‑tech, CPG, steel, medical devices, energy, etc.
Salary Range $171,000 - $190,000 a year
